Kawasaki is one of the leading producers of motorcycles in the world. They pride themselves in having a rich history, one which dates back to the 1960s, when Kawasaki bought Meguro; an ailing motorcycle manufacturer.
Since then, the company has grown tremendously and made quite a name for itself in the biking world. All their new motorcycles come with a standard two-year warranty which can be extended to four years with the Kawasaki Warranty Plus; an aspect that has cemented their place in the market.
Here are the latest Kawasaki offers for 2019.
Cruisers: Kawasaki Vulcan S 2019
The first thing any seasoned biker would notice with the all-new Vulcan S is its smallish size and the little fact that its 17 inch rear tire almost disappears under the muscular fender. They also took a minimalist approach to the cruiser’s cockpit design, and the engine and exhaust are safely tucked away.
The cruiser is powered by a liquid-cooled, DOHC, 8-valve 649cc parallel-twin unit with direct injection. That makes it spirited, but not stunning.
Dual Purpose: Kawasaki Versys 1000 2019
Retailing at $17999, the Versys 1000 is worth every penny. It comes with a 1043cc in-line four-cylinder unit, optimized for on and off-road performance. That assures riders of superb throttle response and super strong torque at all rpm. It also comes with electronic throttle valves which make cruise control a reality and long trips comfortable. However, this is the kind of bike you want to leave at home when it’s time to party downtown.
Scooter: Kawasaki J125 2019
The J125 is Kawasaki’s answer to the market’s need for a practical scooter with a mix of family resemblance and sporty features. It comes with a 125cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine which is perfect for a daily commute in a city setting. The ABS braking system makes it possible to stop it under any circumstances; even on those greasy utility hole covers.
Sports: Kawasaki Ninja 125
Marketed as the entry point to high-end biking, the Ninja 125 is an A1 licence friendly motorcycle with features borrowed from the mighty H2.
The sports bike comes with a surprisingly responsive 125cc engine, tuned to deliver an all-round experience for the rider. That includes fuel efficiency, seamless response for low and mid-range revs, and a blast at the top. The pricing is also competitive compared to other bikes in its class.
Sports Tourer: Ninja H2 2019
Kawasaki’s supersport family comprises of track derived motorcycles, toned down to become legal road machines. It’s members range from the Supersport 600 to the supercharged H2.
Retailing at a whopping $28000, the Kawasaki Ninja H2 is among the meanest bikes the world has ever seen. For 2019, they bumped up the bike’s power to 236 BHP from the previous 200 BHP. It can pull all the way to the redline with no problem at all.
This boy handles surprisingly well even in city situations, thanks to the ABS braking system combined with innovative engineering. The suspension on this machine is high quality; even the heaviest riders would still have a good time riding this beast.
Final Word
This shortlist is not, by any means, exhaustive. There are more motorcycles in every category, and we had to choose the best to represent the rest. But it looks like the company is aiming at cementing its place in the biking arena.
