From the Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle, where you can buy the Kawasaki bikes, to the top five bikes available and AVTs and much more. Kawasaki’s history started back in the 1940s. By 1949 these amazing motorbike manufacturers were building great engines which could be used to build great motorbikes. The first actual bike surfaced in 1954.
Introduction of the Kawasaki Bike
The introduction of the Z1 in 1973 proved a milestone for Kawasaki. This woke the company up and took them to a level equal to their competitors like Honda. They started to get recognition as a company then. The Z1 became a huge success and many people flocked to buy them.
In 1984, the introduction of the GPz900r caused quite a stir. This was in line with the company’s development of liquid-cooled, DOHC, 16-valve, four-cylinder engines. This power unit combined with a light, compact chassis would carry you across the first 400 meters of your journey in just over ten and a half seconds. It had a top speed of 250km/h and took the title of ‘The World’s Fastest Bike’. It was also named ‘Bike of the Year’ in 1984.
1984 also saw the introduction of Kawasaki’s first Cruiser, the Vulcan 750, whilst the 900cc Eliminator came along a year later, using the engine from the GPz900r. The CS250 (Casual Sports) appeared in the same year, featuring a liquid cooled, DOHC, single cylinder motor.
During the ’90s, Japanese motorcycle manufacturers were in serious competition in the Superbike sector, and Kawasaki’s contribution was the 1052cc, ZZR-1100, a motorcycle that was to remain the fastest production bike for the next five years. Its power, combined with a strong frame and good suspension, made it a popular touring machine. In 2002, it was replaced by the ZZR-1200, which offered better handling. A ZZR-600 also entered the fray.
Today, Kawasaki is one of the top brands of motorcycles on the market and is definitely stands up next to the best. Kawasaki fairings are usually available for use on the Kawasaki motorcycle and come in a variety of different styles, such as full, half and quarter. Like any other motorcycle, it is important to equip Kawasaki motorcycles with fairings to protect both the cycle and their riders against the forces of exterior aerodynamics.
How does this all happen? The engine and rider are shielded from the wind by these fairings. They also facilitate the bike’s use of natural aerodynamic forces by reducing drag and protecting the driver through the use of the windscreen. This enables the fairing to provide a protective environment and enhance the bike’s functionality.
Another important aspect of the fairings on the Kawasaki models is that they have the capability to provide some form of protection to the engine and chassis. What does this imply? It means that should an accident occur and there is a motorcycle crash, there will be minimal body damage. For instance, in the unfortunate event that the motorcycle slides after it has made an impact with another object such as the tarmac, it will not be the engine sliding on the tarmac but the fairings.
While installing the fairings, the belly pan type, which is a combination of quarter and half form fairings, is regularly used. The two fairings are often paired just below the engine with the purpose of diverting airflow occurring below the engine progressively.
