Ninja is the brand name for a line of motorbikes, produced by the Japanese company Kawasaki. The Ninja lines have been in production since 1984. Anyone who knows anything about motorcycles has heard of the Ninja. It is a top-range bike which sets a high standard in the industry.
Over the years of its production, the Ninjas have come in many shapes and sizes. Kawasaki has produced bikes with a range of engines, starting from single-cylinder ones such as the Ninja 80rr, all the way up to four-cylinder engines like the Ninja ZX series. The latter, larger sized engines, have been the most popular in the Ninja lines.
In the UK, the prices for new Ninja motorbikes range from £5000 for the smaller models, to upwards of £18000 for the larger racer-style ones. With such a broad range of affordability and the level of quality guaranteed by the Kawasaki name, these bikes make great gifts. For example, they would be the perfect wedding gift for the man who has everything and needs something extra special.
Current Ninja Models
The current series of motorbikes include a good variety of offerings:
- Ninja 400: This model is a 399 cc sportbike improving on the previous Ninja 300 model. It is made out of lighter weight materials than its predecessors, and has a somewhat stiffer suspension, resulting in better cornering stability.
- Ninja ZX-10R: This model has a massive 988 cc engine which achieves 197 hp and a claimed rpm of 13000. This so-called “superbike” features an electronic suspension, which allows for a comfortable ride, even at the high speeds attained by the bike.
- Ninja Z900: The latest in the Z series of Ninja motorbikes, the 900 features a 948 cc liquid-cooled engine. Like the other models in the Z series, the 900 is designed to look more like a standard motorcycle than the speed-racer styling which is prominent in other Ninja bikes. With plenty of chrome, plating a beautiful body design, it is certainly a pleasure for the eyes.
- Ninja H2: The crowning jewel of the Ninja line is the H2 series. These bikes are street-legal versions of some of the racing bikes which Kawasaki produces. They feature a supercharged 998 cc engine which produces over 200 hp and 14000 rpm. The H2 is also noted for the comfortable ride provided by its advanced suspension system and superb transmission. It also has excellent gas mileage.
